An opportunity for caregivers and NGOs serving trafficking victims
July 15, 2006 - April 1, 2007, New Haven, Connecticut, USA

  • Both private and government agencies around the world lament that more of these child sex slaves could be rescued immediately if there were more aftercare services. Justice for Children International and other NGO’s are attempting to expand the number of safehomes (residential care homes) globally. But children rescued out of sexual slavery can not be placed in empty buildings… they need qualified, trained aftercare workers (trauma counselors, child psychologist etc... who specifically deal with trafficking and exploitation victims.
  • The Diploma Training Program in Aftercare (TPA) is a graduate level course developed by JFCI’s Aftercare Director, Dr Gundelina Velazco PhD. She was the recipient in 2004 of the Philippines' Presidential Award for Outstanding Filipinos Overseas, for her work with traumatized children in several countries. She is an accredited member of the British Psychological Society. Dr Velazco’s international experience is unprecedented in training caregivers who work directly with victims of child sex trafficking and exploitation. Please visit http://www.jfci.org for more.
