About The Asha Forum
Uniting
& Expanding the Christian Response to Child Sexual Exploitation
The Asha Forum is one part of Viva Network specialising
in issues of child sexual abuse, exploitation and trafficking. Since
1994, Viva Network has sought to develop a visible and functional
global movement of Christians getting better help to more 'children
at risk'. Operating through regional centers and satellite offices
in 39 countries, Viva
Network links over 8,000 organizations in 192 countries,
reaching over 10 million children.

Asha's Story
In the winter of 1999, forum founder Mike McGill read of a
nine year old little girl named Asha. Her name meant "hope"
in Hindi, and her story was what God used to change Mike's
life and start The Asha Form. Asha was only nine when her
father sold her on the streets of Nepal to a woman who trafficked

Working Groups
As an action oriented network, The Asha Forum helps develop
and facilitate outcome driven collaborations that target the
most urgent needs in the battle against the sexual exploitation

First International Asha Forum
Consultation Oct 2002
The Asha Forum convened the first ever international gathering
of Christians for the express purpose of linking and enhancing
the Christian response to child sexual exploitation worldwide.
This was in many ways the birthing of a movement, producing
a united mission statement, four working groups and an advisory
